…is so disappointing. I really wanted a historically accurate, realistic, classy film. Instead, I’m given Moulin Rouge 2.0 in 3D with Tobey Maguire as Nick. Hollywood, classic literature is classic for a reason. It has solid stories and characters, which means it doesn’t need to be smothered in special effects, splashy dance numbers, sex, and glitter to be entertaining.
And don’t think just because you have Leonardo DiCaprio and Carey Mulligan that everything’s okay. You tried to do the same thing when you casted Colin Firth in the car wreck that was The Picture of Dorian Gray.
In short: Stop ruining all my favourite books!
